The Receptive

Earth's nature is Kun — soft, yet able to carry.

The earth does not raceThe Receptive

The earth grows nothing itself; it only allows everything to grow.

Kun is six yin lines, the extreme of receiving. Receiving is often misread as weakness, but it is closer to capacity — ground that holds a whole forest does it not by resisting but by having soil deep enough. The mare travels the earth: not fast, yet very far, because she never fights the ground.

Kun says: first lost, then finding a master. Rushing ahead loses your bearings; stepping back to your proper place, the road clears. This is the wisdom of the supporting role. Not being the initiator is not being powerless — many things succeed because someone is willing to hold them steady from below, unnamed and never leaving.

Practice Hand one thing today to someone else to lead; your job is only to make it smoother. Note what grows on its own when you stop interfering.
In the four domains

01Career & decisions

Support the strongest initiative in the room rather than starting your own. Whoever holds things steady below becomes indispensable above.

02Love & bonds

Do not lead with demands. Receptivity here is magnetic — listening closely, answering late, and letting the other side reveal its hand first.

03Wealth & resources

A month for keeping, not hunting. Follow existing income channels, cut nothing loose, and let compound interest do the aggressive part.

04Body & mind

Ground yourself with routine: regular meals, walking, low stimulation. The body follows the same law as the earth — capacity grows in stillness.

Timing & action

Follow phase. Choose your horse before you ride: commit to a person, a platform, or a method, then give it a full season before you judge it.
