Oppression

The lake without water — spent, and thereby articulate.

Confined, and so understandingOppression

At the extreme of confinement, there is finally something worth saying.

Kun is the lake drained — water pressed beneath, unable to evaporate or flow away, held. Its subject is not failure but finitude: resources, relationships, vision, expression — all limited. The success inside Kun is another thing: when the mouth is shut, the heart opens; when the feet are locked, thought grows. The deepest works and steadiest character often come out of a season of confinement.

The judgment's harshest three words: words not trusted — in confinement no one believes your speech. The words are not wrong; the position is. So the correct move inside Kun is sealed lips: save the strength meant for explaining; once out, facts will speak for you.

Practice This week take one quiet hour and write down where you are stuck — not to solve, just to write. Read it once after; look at the shape of the confinement.
In the four domains

01Career & decisions

Resources are squeezed and words meet distrust. Go silent and effective: keep the great man's counsel, deliver quietly, and spend nothing on appearance.

02Love & bonds

Hard seasons test bonds. Do not demand proofs of love while drained; accept the plain warmth that remains.

03Wealth & resources

Cash low, spirits lower. The rule: live on less than flows in, even if flows in is very little — and do not borrow to save face.

04Body & mind

Exhaustion is the opponent, not fate. Guard sleep fiercely; a depleted body reads every wall as taller.

Timing & action

Be sparing of words and rich of deed. The trough has a floor — hold the center, spend nothing theatrical, and outlast it.
